25-07-2025 - GSA Summer Cricket Camp Concludes Successfully at Nehru Stadium

A 15-day Summer Cricket Camp organised by the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA) concluded on Friday at Nehru Stadium, providing structured training and exposure to young cricketers from across the region. Conducted under the aegis of the Assam Cricket Association, the camp attracted 65 participants, including players from A Division and B Division clubs as well as girls and women cricketers. The programme specifically targeted budding cricketers in the U-16 and U-19 age groups. The training was delivered by a team of experienced coaches led by veteran city-based coach Nabab Ali, alongside NCA Level 1 coach Chanekya Sarma and strength and conditioning coach Pranjit Das, who is also an NCA Level 1 certified trainer. The initiative aims to offer structured training and exposure to budding cricketers across the region. The closing ceremony was attended by several dignitaries from the cricketing community, including Biswajit Mazumdar, former First Class Cricketer,Assam and Sajjad Zaheer Hussain, joint secretary of GSA. Other notable attendees included Bablu Choudhury, assistant general secretary; Nasir Gul Khan, sports secretary (cricket); Raghavendra Majumdar, sports secretary (athletics); Pradip Sarma, sports secretary (volleyball); and Pramod Rajbangshi, executive member of GSA. The camp represents part of GSA's ongoing efforts to nurture cricket talent in the region and provide young players with professional coaching and training facilities.
